King's College London (KCL) Fintech Society
Who are we?
Founded 2 years ago, the KCL FinTech Society seeks to inform, advise, and guide students by drawing on the experience, successes, failures, and domain knowledge of guest speakers, who range from tech entrepreneurs to financial experts.
What do we do?
Being located in London, the FinTech Capital of our modern society according to City AM, and having emerged out of King's College, one of UK's most prestigious universities, KCLFS gives our members and guest speakers outstanding opportunities for successful mutual benefits in Finance and Technology.
We have prepared several events, trips and networking opportunities that guide students towards a greater understanding of growing role of Fintech.
The first event is scheduled for the 16th of October with Gwyn Day, a global careers advisor, author, Angel investor and a Telefonica Wayra Accelerator alumnus. Many more are scheduled throughout the year with representatives from companies including Barclays and UBS.
This year, King's Fintech Society has been restructured with a brand-new team after having achieved several successful events in the past, e.g. Disruptive Fintech: Fear or Future?
Having just started KCLFS, we have already gained over 250 students following our social media with an exponentially growing number of interested students in our society. We are targeting to double this number by participatin in the KCL Freshers Fair 2018.
Our event portfolio comprises a trip to New York, Columbia University and Wharton in February 2019 and the attendance at a big innovation centre in Paris or Berlin (we are accepting bids from interested hosts, if interested, you can email us directly at email@example.com) to obtain first-hand experience on Fintech, scheduled in Spring 2019.
Why are we here to write?
As part of their development, our members and writing team will explore issues relevant to them, their future career aspirations and the wider FinTech world. We want to give you the opportunity to see what excites studious, creative and business minded GenZers.
We are hoping for plentiful feedback, commentary and, above all, dialogue.
