University of Nottingham Current Affairs Society
Who are we?
We are the Current Affairs Society at the University of Nottingham. We are a brand-new society on campus and, from September 2018, we will be expanding our offer of membership to the whole university.
Our society was founded to spread awareness about world events and create an environment, where members can widen their knowledge about our dynamic world.
What do we do?
To achieve these objectives, we plan to host debates on the latest significant issues our world is faced with. For example, we have organised a debate regarding Brexit, where our members will be able to express their thoughts and share their opinions in an open and friendly environment.
Being a start-up society ourselves, we are also collaborating with start-up companies, whose passions and interests align with ours. Additionally, we have guest speaker events arranged across the academic year, to continue spreading awareness and offer experience and learning opportunities to our members.
Why are we here to write?
As a society, we hope to bring a fresh perspective on business, innovation, and technology to the entrepreneurial community – as our members comprise of a multi-disciplinary educational team.
This enables us to write from differing points of view, on topics that impact areas across the industry spectrum.
The content we create will offer readers an insight into the views of enthusiastic and curious young people. We are excited to start writing, exchange new ideas, and gain knowledge within the collective.
